Dave Johnson's Progressive Surfboards

My first custom shape was a Progressive. Dave's boards run a bit to thick through the nose for my tastes but he is a classic guy. I am surprised he didn't jump on the retro bandwagon, it seems he is content being the low coast shaper. The second half of the clip gets a bit remedial and can be safely skipped.

Clark Riedel of Evolution Surfboards, Modern Day Olo

Pretend Jonathan Redford isn't even in this bit of over produced Hollywood crep and bask in the glory of what Clark Riedel and his team at Evolution are doing with Balsa. I like the part where Clark talks about how hard it is to give these boards up.

Rusty on the Double D Concave for TL2

Check out Josh Kerr killing on the new double d concave bottom from Rusty. The TL2 construction will set you back $770, ouch. Ten years ago I was complaining about spending $250 on a used Merrick at the CI shop in Santa Barbara. Have the cost of building these things really gone up that much or are they basing the increase on the cost of California real estate?
