When I dream, I dream about Pavones and it looks just like this. The only problem is my surfboard is melting like wet cardboard, what's up with that.

Going With The Flow: Classic California Soul Surfing
I have been following a thread at 70percent.org regarding a new movie coming out called riding the wave and really thought the following line taken from this clip was relevant. No matter how crowded or commercialized it gets I think it is important to remember how special surfing is.
"We are not going to see anymore breaks so we are going to have to learn to get together and learn to enjoy the fact that we have probably the greatest gift in the world, the opportunity to surf."

Rob and Pat on Surfing in the age of the internet.
Do surfers spend more or less time on the beach now that they can check the surf on the Internet? Pat O'Connell and Rob Machado weigh in.
According to Rob the closer you live to the beach the less you surf, I could see that. Any small drive is a commitment, take that away and staying in bed gets to easy. On the flip side he knows exactly when the crowd thins and the wind cleans up after a storm and can be on it.

Rusty on the Double D Concave for TL2
Check out Josh Kerr killing on the new double d concave bottom from Rusty. The TL2 construction will set you back $770, ouch. Ten years ago I was complaining about spending $250 on a used Merrick at the CI shop in Santa Barbara. Have the cost of building these things really gone up that much or are they basing the increase on the cost of California real estate?
